We Egyptian Americans , and I believe the same goes for all Egyptians in the western countries , have a different way of looking at things, for instance during this holly month of Ramadan, we still go to work at our regular time, perform our full schedule as any other month and still are very Muslim , very Egyptian in the evening , if we are lucky , we get with other families Friday's and Saturday's to get the feelings of home and belonging.
We do not have the luxury of having good Egyptian deserts which floods the markets in Egypt during Ramadan and Eid, and we do not have the wonderful Hussin to enjoy an evening of total Egyptian flavor.
All that missing , ironically makes us perfect objective observers to what is happening back home, may be less socializing during the great month gives us more opportunities to read what is happening , may be being away from the Egyptian daily life is what makes us look at the whole picture, may be we tend to be less emotional as we learned that from our host country , may be so many other elements ?
Even though I have responded to Dr. Abdelgelil's statement a week ago, my brain is still occupied with it's significance. As important as this document is , I have yet to see a response from the presidential office whether it is the president himself, or Dr. Kandeel . I am reminded of the Ousted President Mubarak saying " Let them entertain themselves " which ended costing him his thrown and falling out of grace.
Does Dr. Mursy still read what is sent to him and what important historical well thought out documents , such as Dr. Abdelgelil's document ? Does Dr. Mursy know the people who mean to help Egypt seriously and sincerely , and the ones who are against Egypt and those social and political climbers ? Or does Dr. Mursy get his reports from the Muslim brotherhood party only just like The former President got his reports only from Alhazb Elwatany ?
There is a danger of not hearing directly from Dr. Mursy or his spokesperson regarding these important matters, there is much more danger in seeing photos without any reliable reports and analysis of what is happening in the Presidential office.
Dr. Mursy, we take you for your words and we do not doubt at all that you are a religious man , but something big is missing out of the picture.Seeing you lead the people into prayer , does not give us more confidence in you, as a matter of fact , even I " A person who does not declare any knowledge of the Islamic Religion " I know that God and Profit Mohamed preferred a hard working man better than one who spend his time praying all day and night, So Mr. President, if you want to lead by example , it is not by praying , let Sheikh Elazhar do that. I would like to see you leading a planning and strategic meeting and making decisions to take us out of falling further and further behind.
Mr. President , having a technocrat government was needed On January 25th 2011, now we really need a combination of revolutionary and skillful leaders , who are going to leap with the speed of light to copy and improve upon successful tried and borrowed experiences from the out side world.
The speed of your regular technocratic government is not going to be fast enough for what Egypt needs at this time.
President Mursy , there are some ministries that need to be shut down and others that need to start a new and those that need to be turned upside down, so far we can not read the reasoning behind the hiring of people selected .
Mr. President, the signals we are getting from your office are not giving us much comfort , and no ,we are not your enemy, we do not want you to fail, and we are not enemies of the Muslim Brotherhood party. Why is it that we are reading conflicting and scary moves from your office ?
Why do we see you surrounding yourself with The Morshid and President of your party only ?
Mr. President , the Palestinians have been our brothers and sisters for ever and our heart and soul bleeds for them , but do you think they are Egypt's priority before the two million children in the street who go to bed in the streets hungry , abused and sold for sex ?
Mr. President Mursy , we have to put our house in order before we help others " Ely yhtaga elbeet yhram ala elgamaa"
Mr. President , we keep talking to you and we keep offering our help , the good people in Egypt like Dr. Abdeleglil, Dr. Gamaa, Dr. Sameer Elish, Mr. George Ishak , and many others who want no fame or gain are offering their productive criticism , observations and solutions . Like them we the Egyptian abroad keep waiting for you to usher us to help, but you seem to not need or recognize our call.
Gradually either we will fade away and loos interest and loose hope for Egypt or we will join hands with people who have no hope for some one who shows allegiance to his party first.
Mr. President, once again, we want you to know that we still stand behind you and hope that you can take Egypt from dream to reality.
God Bless you and God Bless all Egyptians and Happy Ramadan to all.
