{الفكر القومي العربي} Re: Egypt after August 24th.

Dearest Dr.Magdy,
Thank you for responding to my thoughts, we disagree with each other's thoughts but we remain friends , that is how it should be among civilized people.
I have dealt with the issue of time in other articles. Egypt can no longer afford .Set and wait to see what will happen practice. We have done that many of times , it did not work. Transparency , planning and executing are the key to Egypt success. President Morsy has a heavy load to carry , that is for sure, but he asked to take it on.Dr. Morsy and his team must set a clear comprehensive plan to show us how to bring Egypt from where it is to where we want it to go , hopefully to take it's place among developed civil countries.Education is the most important element in the equation, and 1% of the budget will never make it. First where is the budget ? We have offered our help from day one but no one knocked on my door it.Until the Egyptian government recognizes the need to utilize us , it is not very clear to us what to work on and what not.We will keep performing our duty which in my opinion to be the conscious of Egypt.

Dearest Dr. Samia,
I agree we need to pause but not analyze. Dr. Mursi is in power for a very short period of time and it would be fair to wait for much longer to evaluate his actions. I also believe that our role whether from insiders or outsiders is to offer support to the elected President. I am planning to offer help in education, so think with me what can we offer the educational system in Egypt to come back healthier? My 2 cents.
Magdy

Subject: Egypt after August 24th.

There is so much talking about the failed attempt of the opposition groups againist Dr. Morsy, and the way he and his party are running Egypt. So much gloating and celebrating from the Muslim brotherhood party, considering the low turn out of the demonstrators to be satisfaction with status qua.

We must pause and analyze the situation as intelligent  literate people, do the Muslim brotherhood really believe what they claim ?
If they believed this theory which they claim , then once again The Muslim brotherhood must go back to history that happened only few years ago.
Sadam Hussine, Bin Aly , Aly Abdulla Salah, Muammar Gadaffi, and lately Bashar Elassad and Hamid Ibn Issa Alkhalifa, they all thought that their people, their constituents  love them, accept them and are satisfied with the way these characters run their countries.
Egyptians do not hate their president, to the contrary, the majority of Egyptians even those who do not belong to the Muslim brotherhood did not want to give the country back to Mubarak regime, hence Ahmed Shafiq. We had hopes beyond hopes that Dr. morsy will be the champion on the white horse to save Egypt and help Egyptian people move forward with the revolution agenda.
When people called to demonstrate on August 24th ,It was a mix of different groups, those of course from the old regime , who wish to bring the bad system back,  those who are sincere about loving Egypt and want to assure respect for the law and keeping Egypt as a civil society, we also have the minority who feel intimidated by the vast growth and the show of power of the Muslim brotherhood, their people and their wealth.
Lumping all groups who are dissatisfied with the direction President Morsy and his government are taking the country, the very well campaign that threatened people if they go out, the closing of news paper, the threat to imprison journalists and others , the confusion between a loyalty to a president and the obedience to God all are elements which effected the turn out. To think that the demonstration failed to energize a great turn out is credited to the amazing work of Dr. Morsy and and the Muslim brotherhood , would be a grave mistake. Dr. Morsy , his government and the consultants around him must be honest with themselves, they need to analyze why people wanted to demonstrate to show their frustration and unhappiness, and because the Muslim Brotherhood and Dr. Morsy would like to be in power for a longer period than a few months, I would recommend that they act in a smarter and faster way than all these ousted or killed presidents or those rulers who are on their way out.
What the Egyptians want is what the revolution announced , freedom , dignity,  and social justice. When a religious man calls to kill or to justify the killing of any one who rebels  against Dr. Morsy, under no circumstances should the president and his team ignore it, just like they have dealt with the people who disrespected the president. No difference, same law.Dr. Morsy we are glad you canceled the decision  of imprisoning the journalists , but we would have liked it better if you did not fall in this hole from the beginning. Great men do great things. On your first day , you should have sold the government owned TV, news paper and magazines. No respectable government owns and controls media.
Dr. Morsy, we know that Egypt has serious financial challenges at this time, we know that you and your government are in a bad position ,but it is an Egyptian matter, not a Muslim brotherhood matter , so that will be the time to come to your people, share the problem with us, and offer the limited options.Believe me we will understand and we will be an asset to you, we will stand behind you to save Egypt, but when you operate in the dark, the day you take the subsidy away from the bread and gas , for sure you will see millions in the streets. Transparency not conspiracy is what will make you a popular president.
I can't help but finish with telling you that even the small Egyptian American community , when we hear that your office arranged your visit with the Muslim brotherhood in America, not with the formal embassy way nor with the leaders of the communities , that also makes us feel that  you are trapped by the people who are serving you who can't see you outside the Muslim brotherhood circle. Break away Dr. Morsy , break away so that you will be the president of Egypt not the representative of the Muslim brotherhood.
God bless you and God bless Egypt.
